Yankees make trade with Nats

The Yankees acquired outfielder Justin Maxwell from the Nats for right-hander Adam Olbrychowski.Maxwell played in 67 games for Washington last season batting .144 with three home runs and 12 RBIs.He also batted .287 with six home runs and 21 RBIs in 66 games for Triple-A Syracuse. Maxwell had Tommy John surgery on his left (non-throwing) elbow in October after attempting a diving catch in the second-to-last game of the season against the Mets. He believes the surgery will not present an issue this spring. Maxwell was designated for assignment by the Nationals on Thursday. He has a career batting average of .201, with nine home runs and 26 RBIs in 122 Major League games over parts of three seasons. The Yankees already have Colin Curtis and Greg Golson, both of them were decent fill in types last year.I personally think the Yankees didn't  need another back up outfielder but maybe they will catch lightning in a bottle. What sez you love to hear.
